DOG BOARDING

When you board at Wag Days, you can be sure that your dog will have fun, get lots of love, and be tired out at the end of the day. They will spend their time playing at daycare, going for walks, running around at the dog park, keeping their mind engaged with enrichment activities, and cozying up with our staff. And when it’s time for bed, our comfortable, state-of-the-art kennels come in multiple sizes, so dogs of any size can stretch out and snooze the night away.

What is required?

All dogs must pass a behavioral screening and do a trial day of daycare to make sure they are a good fit for our boarding program. They must be up to date on their rabies, bordetella, and distemper vaccinations, and dogs over the age of 1 year must be spayed/neutered.

My dog doesn’t like daycare. Do they have to go?

At this time, it is required that all dogs be able to succeed in a daycare environment. However, we are happy to give your dog breaks or let them stay in their kennel if that is what they prefer.

Can I see what my dog does all day?

Our staff will share multiple pictures with you each day via your dog’s profile. We also post stories on Instagram and Facebook throughout the day. You can follow us @wagdaysphilly.

When is drop-off and pick-up?

You may drop your dog off at Wag Days between 8:00am and 12:00pm Monday through Sunday.

Your dog will be checked out of their kennel by 12:00pm Monday through Sunday. If you pick them up after 12:00pm, you will be charged for a half day of daycare.

What should I bring with my dog?

Food: Please pre-portion your dog’s food in labeled receptacles.

Collar, harness, and leash: A quick-release clip collar is required at daycare for safety. The collar must have a name tag. A harness is not required, but please bring it if your dog uses one. Retractable leashes are not permitted.

Bedding: If your dog would prefer to have their own bed or blanket, you may bring it. However, bedding is not required and will otherwise be provided.

Medication: We will administer medication for an extra fee. Please bring any and all medications in their original packaging with detailed instructions.

How will my dog be monitored throughout the night?

A security guard is on duty in the Bok building all night for emergencies. The kennels are monitored 24/7 via camera. A staff member is always on call in case a dog needs attending to in the middle of the night.

How and when is the facility cleaned?

Our facility is disinfected twice per day. The dog play areas are mopped with an additional dog-safe antibacterial product nightly, and shared water bowls are cleaned nightly with antibacterial soap. Kennels are cleaned thoroughly between clients, and bedding is refreshed as needed.

What is your cancellation policy?

We charge a 50% fee if you cancel 4-7 days before your appointment. We charge a 75% fee if you cancel 1-3 days before your appointment. We charge a 100% fee if you cancel your appointment day-of.

What happens if my dog gets hurt?

We strictly monitor all dogs to avoid injury, but injuries can happen. The most common injuries are scratches, scrapes, and minor punctures. If your dog receives a minor injury, they will be given first aid by a staff member. If your dog receives a more significant injury, we will call you and schedule an appointment with our local vet. In an emergency, your dog will be taken to PACE. Wag Days is not responsible for injury, as daycare is an inherently risky activity.

What happens if my dog gets sick?

Please monitor your dog for signs of illness in the days leading up to their boarding stay, including but not limited to: discharge, runny eyes and nose, sneezing, coughing, lethargy, and vomiting or diarrhea unrelated to diet. If your dog begins to have symptoms during their stay, they will be separated from the pack and we will call you. If they require medical attention, we will schedule an appointment with our local vet. In an emergency, your dog will be taken to PACE. Wag Days is not responsible for illness, as any group of dogs runs the risk of spreading disease.
